How it's grown and processed

Farmers pick each cherry by hand across Greater Central Uganda. Robusta is native to this part of the country and has grown around the Lake Victoria basin for a very long time, so it suits the heat and the lower altitude here. Most farms are small and family-run.

After picking, the whole cherry is dried in the sun with the fruit still on it. The seed sits inside the drying fruit and takes on its sweetness. That slow, natural drying is what gives this coffee its heavier body and rounder cup.

We pay farmers more

We pay our farmers roughly 15–30% more than Uganda's average coffee price.

When you can get it

Uganda's two rainy seasons mean different central regions harvest at different times of year, so we usually have fresh Natural Robusta available across most of the calendar — not just one tight harvest window. Ask us what's freshest right now.
